Requirements
Must:
- Strong proficiency in SQL including complex joins, window functions, CTEs, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake including tasks, stages, RBAC, warehouses, and resource monitors.
- Working knowledge of dbt including models, tests, sources, documentation, and packages.
- Experience building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines in a cloud environment.
- Familiarity with at least one scripting language, with Python preferred, for data processing tasks.
- Understanding of medallion architecture patterns.
- An effective communicator who can work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Azure services including Blob Storage, Data Factory, and DevOps (preferred).
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Sigma Computing and Power BI, including DAX and Power Query (preferred).
- Domain knowledge of aviation data such as schedules, fleet, financial, or operational datasets (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, and maintaining ELT/ETL pipelines using Snowflake, dbt, and SQL to transform raw aviation data into analytics-ready datasets.
- Building and optimising Snowflake objects including stages, tasks, stored procedures, dynamic tables, and streams.
- Identifying cost optimisation within warehouse use and query structures.
- Implementing data quality frameworks, monitoring, and alerting across bronze, silver, and gold data layers.
- Collaborating with product, data, and commercial teams to translate business requirements into scalable data models.
- Managing cloud storage integrations including Azure Blob and GCS and orchestrating automated ingestion workflows.
- Maintaining documentation, version control using Git, and CI/CD processes for all data assets.
- Playing an active role in future hiring decisions as the team grows.
