Requirements
Must:
We seek candidates with extensive experience working with large, complex systems from both development and maintenance perspectives, particularly from an architectural standpoint, including familiarity with DoDAF. Applicants should possess expertise in data reduction, extraction, and post-mortem analysis of complex software systems, along with advanced experience in creating and maintaining digital models of embedded systems. Additionally, proficiency in MBSE development and SysML 2.0 principles is necessary, alongside a solid understanding of system requirements development, software design, architectures, and the software development lifecycle as they apply to real-time software projects.
Preferred qualifications include DoDAF Architect certification, experience in developing system architectures and testing methodologies in Agile/SCRUM environments, and familiarity with DevSecOps and test automation. Candidates should demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication skills, the ability to produce technical documentation, and a keen desire to learn new technologies and tools. Knowledge of MBSE tools, particularly Cameo, is a plus.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will define a top-level conceptual model that conveys both the structural and behavioral views of the system. I will create the blueprint for the system and related projects, outlining the components, interactions, and technologies required. It is my responsibility to ensure that the system meets performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability requirements.
I will lead a team of system architects within the engineering organization, sharing my knowledge and expertise with junior members. I will participate in solution planning, definition, and high-level design while exploring alternative solutions. Collaborating with portfolio stakeholders, I will develop, analyze, split, and clarify features and capabilities. Additionally, I will champion the development of system requirements, ensuring they are complete, unambiguous, verifiable, and traceable - forming the foundation for design, development, and testing. I will support a model-based approach to systems engineering, utilizing digital models for specification, design, analysis, verification, and validation. My work will occur within a collaborative, SAFe Agile environment, where I will mentor and review the development of system engineering artifacts produced by Agile scrum teams to ensure quality customer delivery.
