Requirements
Must:
- Expert-level hands-on SQL and dbt
- Strong experience with Tableau and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Deep understanding of dimensional modelling and modern data warehousing
- Experience with data integration and data mesh principles
- Strong data visualisation and data storytelling capability
- Proven experience leading technical delivery within Agile squads
- Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong solution design mindset (desirable)
- Focus on scalability and maintainability (desirable)
- Ability to balance business and technical trade-offs (desirable)
Responsibilities
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable, performant and secure technical solutions
- Own hands-on solution design including Business Layer modelling and Data Contract definition
- Ensure alignment with hybrid data mesh architecture principles
- Lead best practice in dashboard design, UX and data storytelling using Tableau
- Deliver intuitive, insight-driven data products that answer key business questions
- Act as the senior technical authority within the squad, mentoring BI Specialists and Analytics Engineers
- Lead by example through hands-on development using SQL, dbt and GCP
- Champion coding, testing and documentation standards through peer review
- Lead technical aspects of Agile ceremonies and own technical backlog prioritisation in Jira
- Promote data governance, metadata management, lineage and data quality practices using Atlan
Description
We are seeking a Senior Technical Data Solution Designer to join our large-scale enterprise data transformation programme within a complex, fast-paced environment. This role offers more ownership, impact, and technical depth as you act as the senior technical authority within your data product squad, shaping end-to-end solution design. Our team values collaboration and innovation, and you will work hands-on with modern tooling including dbt, SQL, GCP, Tableau, and Atlan within a hybrid data mesh environment.
