Requirements
Must:
- 10 years of Java development experience, including expertise in Spring Boot and concurrent programming.
- Strong experience with the AWS Serverless stack (Lambda, DynamoDB, ECS Fargate, API Gateway, CloudFormation, etc.).
- Proficiency with messaging systems (MQ, Kafka).
- Deep understanding of RDBMS (Sybase/DB2 preferred) with strong SQL knowledge.
- Skilled in writing unit and integration tests (JUnit).
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable web applications using Java and AWS Serverless architecture.
- Build and manage microservices using Spring Boot and Java 11.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or AWS CodeBuild.
- Work with AWS services including Lambda, DynamoDB, ECS Fargate, S3, SQS, SNS, RDS, Kinesis, and CloudFormation.
- Develop secure, efficient APIs using API Gateway and related integrations.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production issues using tools like CloudWatch.
- Conduct peer code reviews and maintain coding best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, QA, and UX.
- Lead feature development from planning to deployment.
- Deliver high-quality code in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Description
We invite you to join our dynamic, tech-forward team as a Senior Java Microservices AWS Developer, where you will work on large-scale, high-performance cloud-native solutions. This role will challenge you to leverage your strong back-end development expertise using Java and AWS Serverless technologies. As part of our team, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of robust applications that support complex business needs within a modern DevOps environment. The position is based in London with a hybrid working model, requiring 2 days onsite, and offers a contract rate of £500/day (inside IR35) for a duration of 6 months, starting as soon as possible.
