Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates with at least 10 years of experience in Java development. You should have strong knowledge of Java 11, Spring, and AWS serverless architecture. Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, ECS Fargate, API Gateway, and CloudFormation is essential. Proficiency in building microservices, containerization (Docker), and security best practices is necessary. Experience in CI/CD, automated testing (JUnit, Jest, Cucumber), and cloud-native patterns is important. Familiarity with PostgreSQL or other RDBMS is also required.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will lead the design and development of web applications using Java and AWS serverless services. You will integrate various AWS services and implement secure, reusable code using modern frameworks and cloud patterns. You will take ownership of the full development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and monitoring. Additionally, you will develop CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies using AWS DevOps tools, monitor application performance, and optimize backend services. Another key aspect of your role will be to guide and review code quality across the team.
Description
This is a contract position based in London with a hybrid work model, requiring 2 days a week onsite. The contract length is 6 months (Inside IR35), and the expected rate is £400-£500 per day. We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible, and you will be joining a fast-paced delivery team focused on delivering enterprise-grade applications. Your contributions will have a significant impact, and you will have the opportunity to mentor junior developers as part of your leadership responsibilities. Additional desirable qualifications include front-end development exposure (Node, TypeScript), project leadership or mentoring experience, experience with Agile tools like Rally or Jira, and knowledge of ServiceNow integration.
