Requirements
Must:
- Strong Python application development in banking/risk applications and calculation engines
- Exposure to cloud technologies
- Familiarity with Athena ecosystem or similar (SecDB, Quartz)
- Trade Lifecycle / Market Risk / Risk platform experience
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
- Professional development experience with Python
- Experience communicating to business-facing customers and technical teams
- Solid understanding of the software development life cycle
- Knowledge of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and security
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5 years of applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g. Cloud, AI, ML, Mobile etc.)
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies, including React (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Interface closely with the business, quantitative research analysts, and upstream as well as downstream technology teams across the firm
- Work in an Agile environment, always looking to improve
- Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with innovative approaches
- Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
- Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Promote a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

This team provides Risk Managers with the capability to assess the financial impact of various adverse market scenarios. As part of our agile team, you will design and deliver leading-edge technology products while working closely with business functions and technology teams. We offer both contract and permanent opportunities and foster a culture of innovation and inclusion. The role is fully onsite, allowing for direct collaboration and interaction with our diverse team in the vibrant city of Glasgow.
