Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates with the following essential skills:
- Strong professional experience with Django, Python, and PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency with version control tools, especially Git/GitHub.
- Ability to translate technical requirements into effective solutions.
- Understanding of front-end fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JS) and web standards.
Desirable skills include:
- Experience with Wagtail CMS.
- Front-end development skills.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and server management.
- Experience with Agile workflows.
Personal attributes we value:

- Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will expect you to:
- Lead the transition from Django CMS to Wagtail CMS (which is near completion).
- Develop and maintain new features and functionality for our website.
- Make backend architectural decisions to support scalability and maintainability.
- Provide occasional user support for internal Wagtail users, including training, documentation, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with internal teams to design user-focused digital solutions.
- Occasionally work across the stack and interface with external systems, such as Salesforce CRM.
- Contribute to project scoping and technical planning.

This is a fully remote role; however, you have the option to work in the office if you prefer. Our organization is a UK-based nonprofit devoted to improving the public information environment, and we are excited to welcome a Web Developer to our mission-driven team. This position provides the opportunity to shape a key public-facing website while ensuring its infrastructure is robust, accessible, and effective.
