Requirements
Must:
- Expert in containerisation and minimal operating systems
- Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes and AWS
- Skilled in IaC, CI/CD and DevOps best practices
- Ability to implement effective monitoring, alerting and observability solutions
- Experienced in Agile methodologies and rapid MVP delivery
Responsibilities
- Build, deploy and operate secure, resilient web systems and services
- Automate deployments and infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Contribute to system design discussions, prioritising performance, security and sustainability
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, observability, alerting and monitoring solutions
- Use containerisation (Docker & Kubernetes) and AWS services (RDS, S3, SQS) to deliver scalable solutions
- Build tools and services to improve operational efficiency and developer workflows
- Collaborate with internal teams to design, create and maintain software
- Work in Agile sprints to deliver MVP functionality and validate product concepts

We are the Ministry of Justice, looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer for a 6-month remote contract with occasional site visits. Join our Justice Redact team to design and build an AI-powered Personally Identifiable Information (PII) redaction Minimum Viable Product (MVP). You’ll be part of a collaborative team of Full-Stack Developers, Data Scientists, and other experts dedicated to modernising processes and improving efficiency.
