Requirements
Must:
- Experience in IT infrastructure engineering, hybrid cloud and Azure environments.
- Hands-on expertise with virtualisation, networking and Windows Server administration.
- Strong knowledge of security, compliance and operational best practice.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation frameworks.
- SC clearance and ability to work on-site in Abingdon.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain IT infrastructure including Windows Server, Hyper-V, Active Directory and networking.
- Develop hybrid solutions integrating on-premises systems with Microsoft Azure.
- Use infrastructure-as-code tools such as PowerShell and Terraform and automation tools such as Ansible.
- Monitor and optimise system performance, availability and resilience and manage backups and disaster recovery.
- Implement security controls and ensure compliance with standards such as NIST, ISO 27001 and CAF.
- Produce documentation, runbooks and training materials and provide guidance to junior team members.
- Work closely with stakeholders to deliver reliable and innovative IT services.
Description
We are seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our Computing Division in Abingdon with a hybrid working arrangement (3 days on-site, 2 remote). You will be instrumental in delivering secure, resilient, and high-performing hybrid cloud solutions while collaborating with architects, engineers, and project teams.
