Must:
We seek a highly motivated and technically skilled SCADA Systems Engineer. You should have experience in the maintenance, support, or technical delivery of SCADA or Industrial Control & Automation (ICA) systems. Proven ability to work collaboratively with operations teams, contractors, and technical specialists is essential, along with strong communication and customer service skills. You must be able to translate technical language for diverse audiences and demonstrate excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills under pressure. Familiarity with change control, risk management, and fault escalation processes in critical systems environments is also required.
In terms of technical qualifications, a recognized qualification in Operational Technology, ICA, or SCADA systems is necessary, along with practical experience supporting Schneider Electric Geo SCADA or similar platforms. Good working knowledge of SCADA configurations, RTUs, client systems, and associated telemetry protocols is expected. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and common IT platforms for analysis and reporting is also important. Desirable experience includes working within regulated utility or critical infrastructure environments, and exposure to cybersecurity principles in industrial environments.
Responsibilities
As a Regional SCADA Engineer, you will maintain high availability of the Regional SCADA platform, targeting 99.2% uptime or higher. Your proactive work will involve system maintenance, patching, upgrades, and configuration management. You will diagnose and resolve faults across SCADA applications, RTUs, and client workstations. Participation in the SCADA emergency support roster, providing fault response during both hours and out-of-hours, will be a key part of your role.
You are expected to manage access and data requests in line with OT policies and security controls, ensuring all changes align with defined operational requirements. Collaboration with Capital Delivery and project teams will be necessary to ensure SCADA changes follow operational procedures, minimizing risk. You will act as a key technical contact for SCADA standards and provide expert guidance on best practices. Additionally, you will contribute to knowledge articles, guides, and internal training to upskill your peers, while leading opportunities for process improvement.
