We are looking for a Lead Test Assurance Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in testing or test assurance roles, including 2 years in a test lead or equivalent position. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, deep knowledge of testing and assurance methodologies, frameworks, and best practices, as well as experience working within highly regulated environments. You should possess excellent communication skills with a proven ability to influence and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in drafting and presenting technical reports tailored to the target audience is essential. We also value candidates who can identify improvement opportunities and drive them to implementation. Familiarity with Smart Metering and Utilities industries and testing or assurance certifications like ISTQB Advanced would be advantageous, as well as an understanding of AI/ML in testing, DevOps, and continuous testing practices.
Responsibilities
As a Lead Test Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for defining and delivering test assurance activities across Change and In Life Change BAU portfolios. You will work closely with the Test Assurance Manager to oversee various phases of testing, including Pre-Integration Testing (PIT), Systems Integration Testing (SIT), and User Integration Testing (UIT). Your key responsibilities will encompass the preparation, execution, and closure of testing phases, ensuring compliance with the governing test approach, and engaging with Service Providers and Systems Integrators to assure delivery obligations. You will define the scope of testing, review and enhance test basis artefacts, and lead the development of the Test Approach. Additionally, you will communicate efficiently with stakeholders, manage test witnessing, resolve testing issues, and provide support to Testing Participants during user testing windows.
Description
This role resides within our Test Assurance team, a part of the larger Technology Integration and Assurance directorate under the Service Delivery function. Our primary mission is to manage end-to-end delivery through a structured governance process, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the necessary standards for successful operational use. As a Lead Test Assurance Engineer, you will be the primary contact for test and assurance activities on your allocated projects, and you will play a crucial role in monitoring and reporting progress to various internal and external stakeholders.
