Must:
- 3 years designing and deploying ETL/ELT solutions with Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- 3 years experience with T-SQL, including Functions, CTEs, complex joins and query optimisation
- 1 years experience of Azure Databricks/notebooks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong data quality and governance skills
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal and collaboration skills with colleagues and clients
- Ability to explain technical subjects to non-technical people
- Experience coaching junior data engineers
- Experience checking junior data engineers outputs
*Preferred experience*
- Azure Data Lake/BLOB storage file structures
- SSIS, some experience would be beneficial to migrate away from legacy packages
- SSRS and/or Power BI
Responsibilities
- Creating ETL/ELT processes using ADF/SQL and Azure Databricks
- Guiding the low-level design of data solutions, taking high-level solutions, and translating them into workable designs and work packages
- Monitoring the quality of data platform(s) and ensuring effective implementation of data ETL and database solutions
- Developing high complexity, secure, governed, high quality, efficient data ETL from various internal and external sources
- Designing and building data observability and data quality by design into all Data ETL processes
- Promoting self-testing pipelines that proactively identify processing issues or discrepancies
- Checking junior team members outputs and providing feedback
- Explaining complex topics to junior members of the team
- Coaching junior team members around Data Engineering and the Data Development Lifecycle
- Taking accountability for peer review, testing, and deployment of junior team members code
