Requirements
Must:
- Proven proficiency with cloud platforms, particularly GCP, including experience with infrastructure as code and cloud-native services.
- Demonstrable leadership and practical experience in architectural practices, including designing scalable, resilient, and secure backend solutions.
- Strong commitment to team collaboration and driving successful outcomes.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality, performant, and value-added results.
- Commitment to quality assurance and adherence to delivery timelines.
- Ability to autonomously manage multiple complex assignments with minimal direction.

- Significant experience performing and leading development reviews, ensuring code quality and maintainability.
- Expertise in Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) methodologies for backend services.
- Solid understanding and application of architectural standards in large-scale organizations.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and products to meet customer needs.
- Involved in the entire software development lifecycle, including designing software architecture and writing code.
- Test for quality assurance and adherence to best practices.
- Define and optimize pipelines for backend deployments using CI/CD tools.
- Perform and lead development reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability.
- Provide guidance to junior team members.
- Collaborate with team members to drive successful outcomes in projects.
- Adapt to project demands as needed, including being flexible with tasks and timing.
Description
We are a leading engineering company in the finance and banking division, seeking a Software Architect for our Essex offices, conveniently located between Brentwood and Basildon. This is a contract role until December 2026 with the possibility of renewal. We offer a competitive rate of £600 per day, and we embrace a collaborative team environment. You will play a key role in designing and implementing solutions that meet the needs of our customers, while also adhering to the highest standards of quality and performance.
