Must:
We are looking for a Data Governance Analyst with the following qualifications:
- Up-to-date knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices
- Experience with data catalogs and metadata management
- Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Purview and Azure data technologies (SQL, Data Factory, Data Lake)
- Proven ability to implement policies across diverse enterprises
- Experience working in cross-functional IT teams
- Degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, SQL, and ideally MS Azure certifications
Responsibilities
As a Data Governance Analyst, you will be responsible for:
- Promoting and championing data governance principles across the organization
- Supporting data quality, metadata, and master data management initiatives
- Developing and maintaining data standards, policies, and procedures
- Implementing governance changes and gaining stakeholder buy-in
- Monitoring compliance and escalating issues when necessary
- Facilitating data stewardship and maintaining glossaries/catalogs
- Collaborating with IT and business teams to align governance with data strategies
- Conducting data quality assessments and supporting remediation efforts
- Maintaining metadata repositories and data lineage documentation
- Supporting data classification and access controls
- Providing training to enhance data literacy and reduce risks
