Requirements
Must:
- Exceptional experience with Microsoft Hyper-V
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server Failover Clustering
- Proficiency in configuring and managing virtual switches, networking, and storage
- Experience in managing virtual machines including provisioning, patching, upgrades, and decommissioning
- Ability to monitor performance and engage in capacity planning
- Familiarity with health checks and system audits
- Knowledge of live migration, storage migration, and Hyper-V Replica
- Experience developing and testing disaster recovery plans
- Understanding of backup integration with enterprise backup solutions
- Skills in hardening virtualization hosts and guest systems
- Knowledge of organizational security policies and compliance
- Experience with patching and vulnerability remediation
- Strong troubleshooting skills for Hyper-V, storage, networking, and clustering issues
- Proven ability to provide Tier 2/3 support for virtualization-related incidents
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy virtualization solutions using Microsoft Hyper-V
- Plan and implement host clustering with Windows Server Failover Clustering
- Configure and manage virtual switches, networking, and storage
- Manage virtual machines, including provisioning, patching, upgrades, and decommissioning
- Monitor performance and execute capacity planning
- Perform regular health checks and system audits
- Implement live migration and storage migration
- Configure replication with Hyper-V Replica
- Develop and test disaster recovery plans
- Ensure backup integration with enterprise backup solutions
- Harden virtualization hosts and guest systems
- Ensure compliance with security policies
- Manage patching and remediation of vulnerabilities
- Diagnose and resolve Hyper-V issues
- Troubleshoot storage, networking, and clustering issues
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for virtualization incidents
Description
We are a dynamic company focusing on infrastructure solutions, currently seeking a strong Infrastructure Engineer with exceptional experience in Hyper-V. This is a project-driven role to support a client in rebuilding parts of their infrastructure following a ransomware attack. You will work collaboratively with architects, managers, and suppliers.
