Requirements
Must:
- Experience leading data quality and migration readiness within large-scale transformation programmes
- Experience supporting enterprise system implementations such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms
- Proficiency in data analysis and transformation tools such as SQL, ETL solutions, Power Query, or Python
- Experience within the public sector or similarly complex organisational environments
- Experience establishing or enhancing data governance frameworks
Responsibilities
- Lead data assessment and profiling, evaluating completeness, accuracy, duplication, and structural issues
- Establish data standards and controls, setting validation criteria, naming conventions, and classification structures applicable across multiple domains
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive data inventory
- Design and oversee data improvement activity, including tasks, rules, and acceptance criteria
- Support teams responsible for executing data improvement tasks
- Monitor progress against plans and provide clear reporting on performance, risks, and variances
- Define data mapping and transformation approach
Description
We are a large public sector organisation currently undertaking a major transformation programme to replace multiple legacy applications with a single system. This critical programme focuses on ensuring that our data is properly understood, standardised, and prepared for implementation. With an initial governance structure established and preliminary data assessments underway, we aim to demonstrate a clear understanding of our data estate. The position will be hybrid based in Leeds, and the initial contract length is 6 months.
