Requirements
Must:
- Minimum 8 years of web application development experience with a strong portfolio in bespoke eCommerce and enterprise web applications.
- Proven expertise in C#, ASP.NET MVC 5, SQL Server, Entity Framework, and React, with desirable skills in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming, SOLID principles, and common design patterns.
- Experienced in RESTful API design and integration; experience with SOAP WebServices and XML/XPath.
- Skilled in using IoC containers (Autofac, Ninject) and unit testing frameworks (NUnit, Moq, SpecFlow).
- Proficient with source control management tools (Git, GitFlow, SourceTree) and dependency management using NuGet.
- Experienced with CI/CD and DevOps pipelines (GitLab, Azure DevOps, TeamCity, Cake, or Octopus).
- Working knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and issue tracking tools such as Jira.
- Proven track record of delivering features and projects to deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.
- Understanding of application and database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization techniques.
- Comfortable working in small, collaborative teams and taking initiative in managing development tools, environments, and build processes.
- Familiarity with enterprise CMS platforms (e.g., SDL Tridion).
- Proactively stays current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and development practices.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain complex web solutions using ASP.NET MVC 5, C#, and React, providing problem-solving insights to enhance product quality.
- Support migration to new technologies, ensuring clean architecture, scalable design, and efficient implementation.
- Deliver secure, maintainable, scalable, and fault-tolerant code following SOLID principles and industry best practices.
- Contribute to front-end development using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern React components.
- Participate in architectural discussions and propose improvements to enhance system performance and maintainability.
- Collaborate with Digital Product, Technology, and Marketing teams to define, estimate, and deliver features within sprint timelines.
- Participate in code reviews, mentoring team members to maintain consistency and adherence to standards.
- Advise and guide mid-level and junior developers on technical approaches and design decisions.
- Work independently and manage source control, branching, and deployments using GitLab or Azure pipelines.
- Log and troubleshoot errors across development, staging, and production environments to maintain stability.
- Integrate and maintain third-party services and APIs to ensure seamless connectivity with external systems.
- Ensure smooth and stable release cycles across multiple websites and environments.
- Research and explore new technologies and techniques to continuously improve platform quality and team capability.

We are seeking a Senior Web Application Developer for a hybrid role based in West London, focused on eCommerce web applications. This three-month contract, with potential for extension, offers a daily rate of £425 (inside IR35).
