Must:
We are looking for someone with extensive commercial experience in Golang for back end development. Familiarity with Python, while advantageous, is not essential. You should have a proven ability to build and support applications at scale, ideally in microservices environments. A strong understanding of web technologies along with experience in web scraping or automation is essential. Knowledge of information security principles and secure coding practices is required. Excellent communication and documentation skills are crucial, as is the ability to work independently and hit the ground running. Experience in global, distributed teams is a plus.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will create tools that emulate malicious activity to detect and fix weaknesses in our web platforms. You will build and enhance microservice-based automation pipelines that test and strengthen our web applications. Your tasks will also include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable back end systems for our internal web crawling and scraping tools. You will collaborate with engineering and security stakeholders across our global teams, delivering high-quality, efficient code in an agile environment with minimal supervision.
Description
We are a global media and consumer technology company seeking a Senior Back End Engineer to join our Information Security team for an initial 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension up to 2 years. This hybrid role requires you to work in London 3 days a week and allows 2 days of remote work. We offer a competitive daily rate of £600-£650, inside IR35. This fast-paced, high-impact position is suited for experienced engineers who are confident in working autonomously and contributing to complex systems with minimal onboarding. Ideally, you should be available immediately or at short notice, and be flexible to help us tackle a growing backlog of work.
