Requirements
Must:
- Expertise in enterprise networking technologies, experience supporting core LAN, MAN, and WAN environments
- Hands-on knowledge of core routing, switching, and transport technologies, including IP networking, MPLS, segment routing, multicast, and VPNs
- Demonstrated knowledge of optical transport architectures across metro and long-distance networks
- Exposure to network automation tools and practices
- Familiarity with network observability/troubleshooting tools such as SevOne, Splunk, NetScout, Wireshark, and others
- Experience engaging and collaborating with clients
- Ownership mindset with a focus on alignment across teams
- Desirable: experience with SDN technologies like Cisco ACI or VMware NSX, previous experience in network design, deployment, or operations, and familiarity with automation tools such as Python or Ansible
- Industry experience within the financial sector is a plus
- Eligibility to live and work in specified location, background checks will be required
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage the ongoing progress of the organizations core network and transport infrastructure
- Support WAN routing, switching, and ensure performance meets client requirements
- Communicate effectively to keep track of progress, mitigating risks with appropriate actions
- Create and maintain technical documentation addressing failure impacts and remediation
- Own core routing and support fibre infrastructure and transport technologies
- Act as a technical partner to various levels of management
Description
We are seeking a Core Network Engineer for an urgent requirement based in Cheshire, offering £500 per day (Inside IR35). You will be part of a dynamic team focused on high-end network connectivity and core infrastructure.
