Must:
As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will need to demonstrate the following experience:
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure design and resilience projects.
- Understanding of SCADA/OT systems and industrial networking.
- Strong knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Comfortable working independently and delivering end-to-end solutions.
- Familiarity with RAMS, H&S, and manufacturing/industrial environments.
Responsibilities
In this role, your duties will include:
- Visiting sites across the UK to audit and assess IT infrastructure.
- Performing gap analysis on current hardware, networking, and security setups.
- Designing and implementing redundancy, failover, and cybersecurity solutions.
- Testing systems and creating documentation to support resilience efforts.
Description
We are Orion, partnering with a major renewable energy provider that operates six biomass energy centers across the UK. We are currently looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to help secure and strengthen site IT systems, ensuring maximum uptime and cyber resilience. This position is ideal for someone with strong IT systems experience in industrial environments and a passion for auditing, designing, and implementing robust infrastructure solutions. This contract position offers a duration of 6-12 months and is outside IR35, meaning the worker will be self-employed for tax purposes. Travel expenses will be fully covered at 45p per mile, along with hotel costs, and the role offers flexibility as it is field-based.
