### We expect our candidates to have the following qualifications: - Proficiency in software development to create systems, automation, and debug production/mission-critical systems. - A willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call schedule, handling customer notifications and escalations. - Proficiency in Java, Python, and Linux. - Strong understanding of networking and TCP/IP fundamentals. - Experience with real-world production architectures, scalability, and system design, including cloud computing design patterns. - Solid knowledge of Linux systems and strong system administration skills. - A methodical approach to troubleshooting large, complex, interconnected systems. - Expertise in change management, continuous integration, and deployment best practices. - Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. - A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. - Most importantly, an aptitude for being a good team player and a strong willingness to learn. ###

Responsibilities

As part of our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, your role will involve: - Collaborating on the shared full stack ownership of various services and technology areas. - Gaining a deep understanding of the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavior of production services. - Designing and delivering a mission-critical stack, focusing on security, resiliency, scale, and performance. - Being the authority on end-to-end performance and operability. - Partnering with development teams to define and implement architectural improvements. - Articulating the technical characteristics of services, guiding teams to enhance Oracle Cloud service capabilities. - Understanding and communicating the scale, capacity, security, and performance attributes of our service stack. - Demonstrating proficiency in automation and orchestration principles. - Acting as the ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues. - Utilizing a solid understanding of service topology and dependencies to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations. - Explaining the impact of product architecture decisions on distributed systems. - Demonstrating professional curiosity and a desire to develop a deep understanding of our services and technologies. ###
