Must:
We are looking for a proven track record in leading projects that involve Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Azure/cloud migrations. You should possess end-to-end project lifecycle ownership skills, from scoping through to rollout. Deep infrastructure expertise, including device imaging, endpoint security, and network services, is essential. Strong hands-on experience with RMM platforms and proactive monitoring tools is required, along with familiarity with ticketing systems and ITIL-style service delivery methodologies. You should also have experience with backups, disaster recovery, and continuity planning suitable for SME/school environments. Proven ability to install, configure, and support print management solutions, such as Papercut, is necessary.

Responsibilities

As the Technical Infrastructure Lead, you will lead and deliver infrastructure and cloud migration projects, typically transitioning from on-premises servers to the cloud (Microsoft 365, SharePoint). Your role will include specifying, quoting, planning, and delivering technical solutions with precision. You will act as the senior point for technical escalation and quality assurance on infrastructure setup and delivery. Additionally, you will drive the design and delivery of a robust cybersecurity strategy for all customers and ensure alignment with evolving industry standards. You will lead the adoption of proactive monitoring and automation tools to shift our operations from reactive support to predictive and streamlined processes. Other responsibilities include managing service excellence, conducting root cause analysis, ensuring effective backup strategies, and consistently representing calm professionalism to clients while inspiring high standards within the team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Technical Infrastructure Lead to become the most senior engineer within our organization based in Cheltenham. The role is vital in-office and centers on complex infrastructure projects, cloud migrations, and upholding technical standards across our client base, primarily within schools. You will serve as the technical escalation point for all Level 3 issues and will be a role model for our engineering team. In the long term, this position may evolve into a Technical Director role with senior leadership responsibility, allowing you to significantly influence the future direction of the business. We offer a competitive salary range of £40,000 - £55,000, along with regular reviews and progression opportunities. There is future potential for senior leadership responsibility and significant strategic input into the running of the business.
