Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator certification.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure and security management.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, Intune, and Manage Engine (Endpoint Central, Applications Manager).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Proficiency in managing virtual machines, network devices, and security systems.
- The ability to handle complex technical issues and provide advanced support.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
Responsibilities
As a Third Line Service Desk Engineer, you will:
- Support the current Microsoft infrastructure stack, including Microsoft Entra ID, SSO, Azure, and VMs (domain controllers, file servers, hosted RDS environment, and other services).
- Maintain patching schedules for VMs, Microsoft applications, third-party applications, and anti-virus definitions (including Microsoft Defender).
- Apply critical and high-risk patches within 14 days of release to maintain compliance with Cyber Essentials standards.
- Monitor usage and availability via our monitoring platform, reporting on compliance and remediation efforts as needed.
- Support our MDM stack (Microsoft Intune, Apple Business Manager, and MaaS360) and maintain patching schedules for various devices.
- Champion automation development using PowerShell to improve productivity within the Microsoft environment.
- Manage our SaaS backup solution and triage tickets received via service desk escalation.
- Ensure the Disaster Recovery Plan is fit for purpose through detailed documentation, monthly testing, and compliance management.
- Participate in monthly improvement meetings and collaborate with stakeholders on recovery objectives.
- Conduct rigorous monitoring of the client estate to identify efficiencies and solutions.
- Handle service desk tickets, including categorization, investigation, resolution, and knowledge base development.
Description
This role is based in Cardiff, United Kingdom, with hybrid working conditions, requiring one week every three weeks in the office. You will work 40 hours per week, which includes a 24/7 rota, with all shifts other than days being remote.
