Requirements
Must:
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to tell a story with data
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using SQL
- Experience extracting, manipulating and presenting data
- Ability to identify trends, issues and insights from large datasets
- Power BI experience is beneficial but not essential
- Background in Financial Services is helpful but not required
- Comfortable working in a stand-alone role without a Data team
- A proactive mindset, spotting improvements and driving automation
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance our MI and financial data reporting
- Extract, mine and analyse data using SQL and Excel
- Support implementation of a new regulatory reporting system
- Improve interfaces between the core system (Provision) and Sage
- Automate MI and data extracts wherever possible
- Build dashboards and reporting to support Exec and Board needs
- Identify data quality issues and design solutions
- Prepare for regulatory returns and adapt to changing requirements
- Contribute to financial audits, process reviews and operational resilience
- Ensure compliance with Financial Crime, Data Protection and Conduct Rules
Description
We are looking for an analytically minded Accounts & Regulatory Data Analyst based in Stafford, UK, with a salary of £45,000. In this standalone role, youll take ownership of our MI, regulatory reporting data, and financial systems automation. This position offers the freedom to shape how we use MI across the Society, working closely with Finance, Risk, and other business areas to drive better decision-making at Committee and Board levels. We use Power BI and SQL, but Excel remains the backbone of our data processes.
