Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience leading DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering at Director or VP level
- Strong experience across cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) within complex distributed systems
- Deep expertise in CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, containerisation, and modern deployment strategies
- Demonstrated ability to scale and modernise engineering practices across multiple teams
- Strong understanding of observability, reliability engineering, and incident management
- Strong understanding of how AI can transform software delivery and engineering productivity
- Experience applying AI tools (e.g., Copilot or similar) to improve development and DevOps workflows
- Ability to move beyond basic AI usage and think in terms of automation at scale, agent-based workflows, and managing systems by exception
- Focus on business impact and efficiency gains, not just tooling
- Excellent stakeholder management across engineering, product, and executive teams
- Experience managing cloud spend and operational budgets
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the long-term DevOps and Platform Engineering strategy across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Lead and develop senior engineers and managers across DevOps, SRE, and Cloud teams
- Drive an automation-first culture, leveraging AI to improve deployment speed, reliability, and efficiency
- Evolve CI/CD pipelines to support high-frequency, high-confidence releases
- Identify and eliminate delivery bottlenecks across DevOps, infrastructure, and release processes
- Build and enhance observability (logs, metrics, tracing) to improve performance, stability, and incident response
- Partner with Engineering, Security, and Product leadership to ensure scalable and secure delivery practices
- Own cloud cost strategy and optimisation across large-scale environments
- Champion developer experience through self-service tooling and streamlined workflows
- Provide clear reporting, KPIs, and risk visibility to executive stakeholders
- Influence engineering culture toward AI-augmented, high-performance teams
