Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience leading engineering teams or engineering managers
- Strong background in backend engineering, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure
- Experience building or scaling systems in cloud-native environments
- Strong programming background (Golang, Java, Python, or similar)
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience operating large-scale production systems
- Strong technical leadership and mentoring ability
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical guidance
Nice to have:
- Experience working on cloud security platforms
- Strong Linux systems knowledge
- Experience with observability, reliability engineering, or performance optimisation
- Experience scaling engineering teams during rapid growth
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow multiple backend and infrastructure engineering teams
- Help define and deliver the technical roadmap for key platform services
- Support engineers and engineering managers through mentoring, coaching, and career development
- Drive architectural decisions across distributed systems and cloud infrastructure
- Ensure high engineering standards around reliability, performance, and scalability
- Partner closely with product and platform teams to deliver high-impact features
- Support incident response, operational excellence, and service reliability
- Help scale the engineering organisation while maintaining a strong technical culture
