Must:
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with proven experience in building distributed, event-driven, cloud-native systems. You should have deep expertise in .NET Core and modern .NET Frameworks using C#. A strong background in developing APIs (REST or GraphQL) is essential, along with a solid understanding of relational databases and performance optimization (e.g., MSSQL, MySQL). You should possess hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., AWS or Azure) and be familiar with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from requirement definition through to production support. We appreciate a pragmatic mindset with the ability to challenge approaches and deliver solutions efficiently, and experience with scalable automated testing frameworks for complex systems is a plus.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will collaborate with architecture leads and senior stakeholders to design robust, scalable software systems. You will own technical delivery from design through to deployment and support, while also mentoring and supporting other engineers by sharing knowledge and leading by example. It will be your responsibility to contribute to continuous improvement efforts across tooling, processes, and delivery pipelines, and you should raise risks or blockers early to maintain momentum across the engineering cycle.
Description
This is a hands-on position within a collaborative Agile environment, where you will help shape the architecture and drive best practices in engineering and delivery. You will be working across distributed systems, modern cloud platforms, and scalable backend services that support a critical internal and external user base. Additionally, while not essential, it would be beneficial if you have experience developing desktop applications using WPF, a background in high-throughput or real-time systems, familiarity with frontend technologies such as JavaScript or React, exposure to microservices and serverless architecture, and experience applying TDD, BDD, or related testing methodologies. We offer a competitive salary of £55,000-£65,000 depending on experience, along with benefits such as Work From Home options, a bonus, pension, and healthcare.
