Must:
We are looking for a Principal React Engineer with extensive commercial experience in React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript. You should have a proven record of leading frontend architecture at scale and possess a strong understanding of state management patterns, component-driven development, and UI optimization. Familiarity with design systems and tools like Storybook, as well as modern testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress, is essential. You must have the ability to mentor and develop engineering teams and be comfortable collaborating in cross-functional environments. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are also important.
Responsibilities
In this senior technical leadership role, you will lead the evolution of a large-scale React codebase used across multiple product lines. You will establish frontend architecture and engineering best practices, driving React and TypeScript development across multiple teams. Your duties will include building and maintaining reusable component libraries and integrating design systems, collaborating with product and UX teams to translate requirements into scalable UI solutions, and mentoring engineers through technical guidance and code review leadership. Additionally, you will improve frontend performance, accessibility, and maintainability, collaborate with backend teams for seamless API integration, push forward modern tooling, testing frameworks, and CI/CD improvements, and contribute to long-term technical strategy and roadmap planning.
Description
This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days in the office, with a salary range of £85,000 to £100,000.
