Requirements
Must:
We require candidates to have 5-10 years of experience in backend engineering roles, with a proven track record of building scalable services in Java, preferably version 11. Candidates should have hands-on experience with microservices architecture, REST APIs, and message queues such as Kafka or SQS. A deep understanding of AWS and its services, including ECS, Lambda, and CloudWatch, is essential. Experience with CI/CD, Docker, and ideally Kubernetes is also expected. Bonus points are awarded for experience in security, infrastructure, or SaaS product environments. We are looking for individuals who are comfortable with ownership, ambiguity, and working in early-stage team environments.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will expect you to design and deliver complex backend services using Java and Spring Boot. You will support architectural decisions, engage in scaling discussions, and optimize performance. Collaboration with the technical lead to define best practices will be vital, as well as mentoring developers, conducting code reviews, and facilitating onboarding as the team expands. Additionally, you will be tasked with building services that scale in cloud-native environments, specifically using AWS, while adhering to modern DevOps practices.
