Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience in OpenEdge ABL / Progress 4GL development
- Strong understanding of enterprise application development
- Experience with relational databases (Progress DB, SQL Server, Oracle, or similar)
- Ability to work across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from requirements through to delivery
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- A collaborative mindset and desire to help shape a growing team
Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain applications built with OpenEdge ABL / Progress 4GL
- Work closely with global engineering teams to deliver enterprise-scale solutions
- Contribute to design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of software
- Support migration projects, system integration, and modernization initiatives
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and product teams to ensure high-quality delivery
- Mentor junior engineers and help embed best practices in the new Belfast team
