Requirements
Must:
- Strong commercial experience with C#/.NET Core/.NET 6-8 and ASP.NET Core Web API.
- Deep experience in migrating legacy .NET Framework applications to modern .NET.
- Proficient in Entity Framework Core and SQL Server, including performance tuning and profiling.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices, authentication/authorization, and configuration management.
- Experience with CI/CD using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and deployment automation.
- Familiarity with logging/metrics/tracing tools such as Serilog, Application Insights, and OpenTelemetry.
- Proven ability to work in hybrid on-site teams with clear stakeholder communication.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the rewrite from .NET Framework to modern .NET (e.g., .NET 8).
- Build secure and performant APIs and services using ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework Core.
- Refactor legacy components to reduce technical debt and enhance reliability and observability.
- Design data access patterns for SQL Server, and tune queries, indexing, and migrations.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Introduce a testing discipline (unit/integration), conduct code reviews, and establish coding standards.
- Collaborate with manufacturing stakeholders to align technical solutions with shop-floor workflows.
- Document architecture, decisions, and run-books and mentor permanent engineers.

We are looking for an experienced contractor who can provide both expertise and capacity to help us design, build, and ship production-ready services, all while transferring valuable knowledge to our in-house team. This contract offers a direct impact by allowing you to define the target architecture and delivery pace for a full platform modernization. You will have an opportunity for significant knowledge transfer, shaping standards while upskilling an engaged in-house team.
