Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a candidate who has at least 5 years of experience in software development, specifically with skills in Java, NoSQL, REST, and Full Stack development. You should also have experience with event-driven architectures such as Kafka or similar technologies. A strong understanding of CI/CD best practices and security-focused development is essential. Proven experience in leading teams and driving strategy alignment is required.
Bonus Skills (Desirable, but not essential):
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Cloud experience (AWS, GCP)
- Experience integrating with vended applications (SAP, Workday, etc.)
Responsibilities
As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for leading architecture and design decisions to ensure engineering excellence. You will provide technical input during product discovery, scoping, and framing phases. It will be your duty to align strategy across product portfolios in partnership with Digital Product Managers and key stakeholders. Additionally, you will set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines with a specific focus on Shift-Left security practices. Acting as the technical anchor, you will guide the team in selecting the right technologies and resolving technical challenges while staying ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to deliver value.
Description
We offer a competitive salary in the range of £70,000 to £80,000, with the option for hybrid working—requiring one day per week in the office, whether in Belfast or Derry. There's even potential for a 4-day work week! This role includes a mix of leadership and hands-on responsibilities, allowing you to work on large-scale, high-performance applications while leading a team in an environment that values technical excellence and innovation. You'll be part of a team that champions collaboration and empowers you to drive change and make a significant impact.
