- I require at least 10 years of software engineering experience with a proven record of leading teams or engineering organizations.
- You should have a strong background in backend or distributed systems development within fintech, trading, or financial markets.
- Deep technical expertise in cloud environments (AWS or similar) is essential.
- You must possess an excellent understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and high-performance systems.
- Experience in building or scaling engineering teams from the ground up is needed.
- Strong communication and leadership skills are a must, as you’ll need to influence senior stakeholders globally.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required (postgraduate qualification is a plus).

Responsibilities
- As the Technical Site Lead / Director of Engineering, I will expect you to lead the setup and technical direction of our new Belfast engineering site.
- You will recruit, develop, and mentor high-performing software engineers and technical leads.
- It's your role to define and drive the technical roadmap for backend and enterprise platform systems.
- You will partner closely with global heads of technology, trading, and risk to deliver strategic software solutions.
- Overseeing the architecture, scalability, and operational resilience of core trading and risk systems will be one of your key responsibilities.
- I want you to foster a culture of engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and accountability.
- Representing the Belfast site at a global leadership level and ensuring alignment with the firm's wider product and technology strategy will also be part of your duties.
