Requirements
Must:
- Experience in a Data Platform, Cloud Infrastructure, or DevOps-style engineering role.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure.
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Exposure to data platforms and tooling (e.g. Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, etc.).
- Knowledge of Linux environments and containerization.
- Familiarity with networking and security practices in cloud-based systems.
- Proactive mindset and solid problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in an agile, cross-functional environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, build, and maintenance of a scalable cloud-based data platform.
- Own the deployment and integration of key data tools such as dbt Core, Airflow, Airbyte, and Snowflake.
- Use Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation) to automate deployment across environments.
- Work closely with DevOps and engineering teams to improve release pipelines, CI/CD processes, and observability.
- Establish controls and tooling to support uptime, monitoring, and incident response.
- Lead or support platform upgrades, performance tuning, and optimization.
- Identify and resolve platform-related issues while ensuring data platform security and compliance.
- Stay ahead of emerging data infrastructure trends and best practices.
Description
We are hiring a Data Platform Engineer to join our scaling engineering team at the heart of a modern analytics environment. This role is central to delivering a robust, secure, and highly available cloud-based data platform, integrating data tooling into a wider fintech ecosystem. You will collaborate closely with our DevOps, Data Engineering, and InfoSec teams to ensure platform consistency, stability, and ease of deployment across environments. The platform is under constant iteration, making this role ideal for someone who enjoys solving infrastructure problems with smart automation and improving the resilience of data systems at scale. Our working environment is remote-first, with optional team meetups within the UK/Ireland. We offer a competitive salary of up to £65k along with bonuses and benefits.
