Enterprise Data Architect

1. Data Strategy and Architecture - I will develop and maintain the Enterprise Data Architecture and blueprints aligned to our business goals and operational needs. - When necessary, I will use Retail Industry Data Models to define relevant standards for data designs, models, metadata, contracts, and data quality. - I will design conceptual and logical data models to support business applications, repositories, and data movement. - I will coordinate these activities with our technology partners and System Integrators, utilizing their experience and knowledge. 2. Data Platform Development - I will lead the design and oversee the implementation of our strategic data platforms, such as data repositories, lakes, and warehouses. - I will collaborate with our service teams to ensure timely data movement, optimal performance, scalability, and reliability from both strategic and legacy data systems. 3. Data Integration - I will define and oversee processes for data extraction, ingestion, translation, and transformation with internal and external data sources. - I will define appropriate and timely data flows to support our business operations and decision-making. 4. Governance & Compliance - I will establish data governance frameworks, data stewardship roles, and master data management strategies. - I will ensure data compliance with our internal InfoSec and Compliance teams, as well as relevant laws and standards such as GDPR and PCI-DSS. 5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement - I will work closely with colleagues across the business and third-parties to understand data requirements, approaches, and options to ensure our solutions meet business needs. - I will guide and share aspects of data architecture with peers and stakeholders, highlighting the value of understanding our data. 6. Innovation & Optimisation - I will stay current with emerging technologies, solutions, and approaches and, where appropriate, evaluate their potential within the retail context. - I will continuously improve data processing, richness, availability, security, timeliness, and performance to support data-driven innovations and cost efficiencies.
