Must:
We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer who has very strong skills in Typescript and NodeJS. You should possess significant commercial experience as a backend developer and have a strong critical thinking ability combined with excellent problem-solving skills. A thorough understanding of our tech stack is essential, which includes NodeJS, Typescript, Mocha, Sinon, Terraform, Git, Gitlab CICD, Docker, and various AWS services (ECS, EC2, Kinesis, Firehose, RDS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS). Experience with databases such as Postgres and MySQL is also required.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Backend Developer, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, building, and maintaining scalable and secure backend systems using Node.js and Typescript.
- Collaborating closely within a cross-functional team and across the wider organization to achieve desired outcomes.
- Leading by example, guiding the team through challenging situations using persistence and creative problem-solving.
- Supporting and mentoring junior developers, sharing your expertise, and fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
- Taking the initiative and rolling up your sleeves to tackle critical challenges during high-stakes situations.
Description
In this role, you will play a key part in developing and running a complex multi-environment SaaS product comprised of over 70 git repositories, built on a modern microservice architecture using Typescript, NodeJS, and Docker on AWS, with automated CI/CD pipelines deployed onto Terraform-provisioned infrastructure. This position offers opportunities for learning and allows you to leverage your own experience to influence both the team and the platform. The role is based in Crewe, Cheshire, and offers hybrid working arrangements.
