Requirements
Must:
- I require a minimum of 3 years' experience within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
- Proven experience in a senior/lead service desk or 2nd/3rd line support role is essential.
- I am looking for demonstrated experience leading or contributing to IT projects.
- Strong organizational and planning skills are necessary, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools is needed.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills are a must.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, CompTIA, ITIL, or Prince2/Agile are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- I will expect you to act as a senior escalation point for technical issues across the service desk.
- You will provide advanced troubleshooting and support across Microsoft, networking, and cloud environments.
- Mentoring and supporting junior engineers will be part of your role, helping them develop their technical and customer service skills.
- I need you to ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests, meeting agreed SLAs.
- Taking ownership of complex technical problems through to resolution, while engaging with third-party vendors when necessary, will be your responsibility.
- You should proactively identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to processes, systems, and documentation.
- Leading and managing IT projects (e.g., infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and deployments) from planning through to delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope, will also be required.
- Collaboration with clients to understand their business needs and translate them into technical solutions will be an important aspect of your role.
- Accurate and thorough documentation of technical solutions, project plans, and post-implementation reviews is essential.
- I expect you to champion best practices for IT security, compliance, and service delivery.
Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Engineer to join our growing team in Peterborough. This role is ideal for an experienced IT professional with strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. In addition to serving as a senior escalation point for the service desk, you will lead and support IT projects across our client base.
