Requirements
Must:
- A degree in Computer Science, IT or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, VLANs and subnetting.
- Basic exposure to routing protocols such as OSPF or BGP is beneficial.
- Understanding of network security concepts, including VPNs, IDS/IPS and encryption.
- Confident troubleshooting using monitoring tools or packet analysis.
- Clear communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Certifications such as CCNA or Network are desirable but not essential.
- Successful candidates may be required to undergo background checks.
Responsibilities
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving connectivity, hardware and software network issues.
- Support the installation, configuration and testing of routers, switches, firewalls and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance, highlight inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Contribute to implementing and maintaining network security measures including firewalls, VPNs and intrusion detection systems.
- Help with routine maintenance such as firmware updates, patching and backups.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network setups, diagrams and processes.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and take part in project planning activities.
- Stay updated on evolving network technologies, trends and security threats.
