We are looking for candidates with experience in endpoint and access management, specifically with Microsoft Intune and SCCM. You should possess a strong understanding of MDM/MAM/Conditional Access and Defender for Endpoint. Proficiency in enterprise-level Group Policy and Active Directory implementation and troubleshooting is essential. We require advanced troubleshooting skills in Windows 11, as well as expertise in desktop engineering and infrastructure optimization within an enterprise environment. It is important that you adopt an automation-first approach, with advanced skills in PowerShell. A solid understanding of security tools and principles—including Attack Surface Reduction, least privilege access, and Windows hardening—is also necessary, alongside confident engagement with InfoSec. Familiarity with networking foundations such as HTTP, SMTP, DNS, TCP/IP, proxies, remote access, and load balancers is expected. Strong written and verbal communication skills to present technical information to both technical and senior audiences are critical. An ITIL certification is desirable, and you should be familiar with structured change management processes. We also look for a strong understanding of the following products and technologies: Active Directory and Group Policy, Zscaler, Microsoft Intune and Entra ID, MSI, MSIX, App-V solutions, and Microsoft 365 Endpoint Privilege Management.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will expect you to provide escalation support and conduct in-depth investigations for the GCC group Microsoft Secure Score. Continuous assessment, testing, and improvement will be part of your responsibilities. You will evaluate, engineer, and implement IT Security feature enhancement requests for our global endpoint estate as appropriate. Engineering solutions to automate Evergreen processes is crucial, including developing self-service testing capabilities for application support and development teams, optimizing AutoPatch, and handling Windows Update for Business and major Windows OS updates. You will maintain and develop PowerShell scripts for endpoint management automation tasks. Ensuring systems and automated processes are designed with high availability and data protection in mind will be your responsibility. Furthermore, you will maintain support documentation and issue tracking using Confluence and Jira, providing essential support to our team.
Description
This is a contract position for a Technical Consultant within our Global Client Computing (GCC) Engineering team, starting as soon as possible for a duration of 12 months. The work environment is hybrid, requiring you to be onsite in our London and/or Surrey office three days a week. The compensation for this role ranges from £550 to £650 per day and is deemed inside IR35. As part of the GCC Engineering team, you will contribute to engineering and delivering solutions and infrastructure for our client's global desktop, laptop, virtual desktop, and thin client estate, which includes approximately 11,500 laptops, 1,200 Macs, 1,500 PCs, 3,200 virtual desktops, and 3,000 thin clients across 28 countries. You may be required to work out of hours and weekends, and we will provide training to support our aim of establishing a center of excellence, enhancing skills across the organization, and ensuring consistent standards.
