Networking People Limited
Woodhayes Road 3, South East London
£132,000 - 144,000
Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a Technical Consultant who is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the areas and technologies managed by our Enterprise Network Services (ENS) team. To be successful, you should have extensive experience with agent-based segmentation solutions, particularly with tools like Cisco Secure Workload (CSW), Illumio, or Akamai Guardicore. You should have a solid understanding of zero-trust based architectures in hybrid cloud and data center environments. Additional experience with products including ZScaler (ZIA and ZPA), Secure Web Gateways, SD-WAN Technologies, LAN technologies like Cisco Meraki, and DDI expertise is highly desirable. Knowledge of underlying network routing and switching is expected.
In addition to your SME skills, you should possess programming, scripting, or automation experience with tools such as Python, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are essential, as you'll encounter complex technical challenges. We value creativity and the ability to think outside the box to develop initiatives and solutions that meet the diverse needs of our stakeholders. Effective stakeholder management skills are necessary to engage with various parties, capture requirements, and keep everyone informed throughout the project's progress.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will have you at the forefront of defining design patterns and blueprints for our Enterprise Network Services team. You will engage with business stakeholders, architects, engineers, and other technical experts to gather and analyze design requirements, ultimately determining the minimum viable product (MVP) to be delivered. I expect you to assess and triage detailed requirements to identify common patterns that can lead to scalable solutions.
You will define applicable patterns and blueprints that address these requirements, providing flexibility for stakeholders to review and provide feedback. Your role will also require you to apply architecture and engineering principles, including simplification, standardization, lifecycle management, technical debt resolution, high availability, scalability, and security. You will formally recommend blueprints to the ENS Engineering function and associated stakeholders for approval, and you will document these blueprints at both High-Level and Low-Level Design stages, detailing suitability and presenting designs in relevant Architecture Review Board forums.
Description
This position is a contract role for 12 months, with an expected start date of ASAP. It will be a hybrid position, requiring you to be on-site three days a week in London or Surrey. We offer a competitive daily rate of £550 - £600, and this role is deemed inside IR35. We look forward to your contributions in driving our strategic initiatives within the Engineering group.
