Must:
To succeed in this role, I am looking for candidates who bring significant experience managing large, complex projects in IT or digital environments. You should have experience in large-scale organisational change, as well as formal project management qualifications such as PRINCE2, MSP, or APMP. A strong knowledge of ITIL Service Management and project governance is essential. Additionally, I require proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively, excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and experience in service delivery and transitioning systems into production. Leadership skills with experience managing and motivating teams are also important.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will expect you to provide professional leadership and oversight of projects critical to our organisational success. You will manage resources, budgets, and stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards. You will lead large or multiple projects of strategic importance, define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria aligned with business objectives. Additionally, you will develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and risk registers. Establishing strong stakeholder relationships and ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle will be key. I will also need you to implement evaluation strategies and reporting mechanisms for project progress, drive continuous improvement in project management processes and methodologies, and line manage and motivate team members while supporting their development and performance.
Description
We are a leading organisation located in Birmingham and are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our IT Services team on a fixed-term contract for 18 months. This is a strategic role within our Portfolio and Project Management Office, where you will be responsible for delivering large-scale, complex projects that underpin our ambitious digital strategy and operational transformation. Many initiatives will involve improving data and reporting capabilities, so experience in this area will be highly advantageous. You will lead multiple high-profile projects and manage diverse teams, enhancing digital services and infrastructure across the organisation. We foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence, where technology plays a critical role in achieving our long-term goals. Please note that this role requires you to be on-site in Birmingham two days a week; do only apply if you can accommodate this working arrangement. The salary for this position ranges from £46,000 to £56,500.
