Requirements
Must:
- Strong numerical competence and understanding of statistical and analytical techniques.
- Knowledge of analytical and statistical computing tools, data query languages or mapping software for interrogating large data sets (e.g., Python, SQL, PowerBI, Databricks or similar).
- Effective communication skills for presenting analytical results.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
- Experience in a similar analytical role, or relevant qualification in a numerical discipline (e.g., level 4 apprenticeship; undergraduate degree).
Responsibilities
- Support the Network Analysis & Statistics team in producing high-quality analytical outputs.
- Produce regular reports detailing the performance of the road network.
- Contribute to bespoke analyses on traffic flows, delays, road user safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Provide administrative support to the team as needed.
- Develop tools and dashboards to improve reliability and efficiency of processes.
- Participate in analytical and statistical projects related to business areas such as customer satisfaction and road safety performance.
- Query datasets and apply analytical and statistical methods to data.
- Design effective data visualisations.
- Coordinate and respond to data and information requests within agreed timescales.
- Support the development of resources like training guides and data dictionaries to enhance data usage across the business.
