Requirements
Must:
- Degree in software engineering, cyber security, digital forensics or a related field
- Relevant industry certifications such as AWS, GIAC, or OSCP
- Strong DevOps practices and engineering experience
- Proficiency with CI/CD tooling and modern programming languages (e.g., Python, TypeScript)
- Troubleshooting expertise across diverse technology stacks (compute, storage, networking, COTS, open-source)
- Experience in test-driven development and system acceptance testing
- Ability to lead system design and architecture at high levels of risk and complexity
Responsibilities
- Lead on complex projects and contribute to strategic direction with software solutions
- Act as a technical product owner, developing medium to long term strategies for product lines
- Provide technical leadership and guidance through coaching and mentoring
- Share knowledge and good practices as part of continuous improvement
- Integrate systems and solutions to deliver projects
- Design and architect solutions and systems using DevOps processes
- Review system designs to ensure quality and reduce risk
Description
At National Highways, we manage and improve Englands motorways and major A roads, ensuring safer, smoother, and more reliable journeys for our customers. Our Digital Services Directorate is focused on transforming our operations through modern digital, data, and technology services. We are committed to fostering a diverse environment and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. This is a hybrid role, requiring two days per week in the office at any National Highways location. We aim to develop integrated information and technology that enhance safety and reliability.
