Requirements
Must:
- Strong hands-on experience with VMware NSX-T
- Experience with VMware AVI Load Balancers
- Knowledge of Cisco secure networking
- Experience working within hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) environments
- Proven ability to design and deliver scalable network architectures
- Strong understanding of identity and tiered access models
- Experience in highly automated environments
- Desirable: SD-WAN experience
- Desirable: Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools
- Desirable: Knowledge of security best practices and secure design principles
- Desirable: Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform
Responsibilities
- Lead the deployment and configuration of NSX-T components
- Design and implement logical networking, distributed firewalling, load balancing, and VPN services
- Drive network virtualisation and micro-segmentation strategies
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security across network services
- Design and maintain identity and access management solutions
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and automation teams

We are a highly secure government programme based in Reading, seeking a Lead Network Engineer with expertise in VMware NSX to join our specialist networking team. In this key technical role, you will act as the subject matter expert, leading the design, implementation, and optimisation of network architectures within hyperconverged infrastructure environments. You will work with cutting-edge technologies to solve complex challenges in a secure setting, and we offer a competitive salary of up to £75,000 along with a company bonus.
