Must:
We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer who possesses a solid understanding of a variety of tools, including web application firewalls, intrusion detection technologies, vulnerability scanners, and SIEM solutions. You should have the technical know-how to integrate these technologies to strengthen our cybersecurity measures. Additionally, familiarity with the native tools available in cloud environments is essential, as collaboration with other engineering teams will be necessary for implementation. We value practicality and seek someone who comprehends the risks to the business and can suggest realistic solutions for mitigation. You should be innovative in solving problems, always keeping the needs of our internal customers as a priority.

As a Cyber Security Engineer at N Brown, your role will involve identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency in our processes through automation. You will onboard and integrate AWS native tools to facilitate the detection and response to incidents, vulnerabilities, and misconfigurations in our AWS environments. Developing self-service tools for our engineering teams will be a key aspect of your responsibilities. You will also work closely with operational departments to ensure our cyber controls remain effective and are performing optimally. Implementation and maintenance of new security tools will be part of your duties, along with supporting the wider Security team in improving efficiency and participating in incident response efforts as needed.
Description

A solid understanding of relevant security threats and the necessary controls to mitigate them is important. Experience in incident response across both corporate and customer-facing web applications would be beneficial. Familiarity with SIEM platforms, particularly Splunk, is a plus, including experience working with logs and creating correlation searches and dashboards. Previous experience in compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS is desirable. We offer hybrid working arrangements, 24 days of holiday plus bank holidays, a paid volunteer time allowance, and an annual bonus scheme. Other benefits include enhanced maternity and adoption leave, a company pension with contributions, mental health support services, financial wellbeing resources, and colleague discounts across our brands. Our onsite café offers subsidized rates, and life assurance and private medical insurance are also available. At N Brown, we are committed to building a diverse workforce and cultivating an inclusive environment that values equality. Our vision is to become the most loved and trusted fashion retailer by championing inclusion. We are proud to have been named one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work in 2024 and strive to create a happy, inclusive culture for all. Our Head Office is based in the Northern Quarter of Manchester, conveniently located for various modes of transport and surrounded by vibrant cafes and restaurants. Our working hours total 36.17 per week, with core hours from 10 am to 4 pm, providing flexibility to find a working pattern that suits you. We value diversity and are an equal opportunity employer, ensuring we do not discriminate based on any status. Upon applying for this role, we will acknowledge your application and aim to provide timely updates throughout the hiring process. Good luck!
