Requirements
Must:
- Excellent written and communication skills, including experience in writing bids, technical reports, and giving presentations.
- Proven ability to deliver software development programs on time, within budget, and to the required quality.
- Knowledge of software delivery estimation techniques and a history of identifying the best approaches.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycles and their application to delivery programs.
- Experience in managing software development risk.
- Ability to plan and lead software work-packages and delivery projects.
- Experience in leading software design activities and providing engineering support throughout design, test, and acceptance phases to ensure specifications are met, risks are identified, and design is fit for purpose.
- Capability to lead the technical concept development of innovative software solutions to meet challenging technical requirements.
- Experience in generating software specifications and technical procurement specifications.
- Ability to document the design process and demonstrate the verification of system requirements.
- Understanding of UML diagrams is desirable.
Responsibilities
- I will manage and coordinate technical teams for new product development initiatives from early phases in the development lifecycle.
- My role will not involve line management but will focus on leading activities that deliver complex software engineering projects for our defense maritime client, TKMS Atlas UK.
- I will take the lead in planning and executing software work-packages and projects, ensuring effective delivery and adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- I will provide support throughout the design, testing, and acceptance phases, ensuring that all problem areas and risks are identified and addressed effectively.
- I will also oversee the generation and documentation of software specifications, contributing to the technical procurement specifications as needed.
