Must:
We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager with specialist engineering knowledge and a proven ability to manage software teams focused on software development for software-intensive systems and work packages. You should have experience in delivering software development programs on time, within budget, and to high quality standards. Familiarity with software delivery estimation techniques and the application of best practices is essential. You must also be capable of identifying and managing software development risks and applying appropriate software development lifecycles to delivery programs. Previous experience in a military or defense environment within the last 12 months is required, or you should have the capability to obtain SC level security clearance.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will rely on you to plan and lead software work packages and delivery projects effectively. You will be responsible for leading software design activities and providing engineering support throughout the design, testing, and acceptance phases to ensure that specifications are met. You will need to identify problem areas and risks while ensuring the design is fit for purpose. Furthermore, I expect you to lead the technical concept development of innovative software solutions that meet challenging technical requirements. Generating software specifications and technical procurement specifications will also be part of your duties, alongside documenting the design process and demonstrating the verification of system requirements.
