Requirements
Must:
As a Software Engineer, I expect you to have an understanding of military systems, particularly in maritime operations. You should possess experience with Software Engineering Lifecycle processes and tools. A solid grasp of Open Systems Architectures and Principles is crucial, along with the ability to solve complex problems and critically review results and methods to ensure quality. Familiarity with ISO 9001 and TickITplus standards, as well as software configuration management, is required. Excellent communication skills are essential, including the capability to deliver presentations and effective technical report writing. You should be comfortable communicating with both expert and non-expert stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in one or more of the following industry areas: Defence, Maritime, or Rail.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will apply a software engineering approach to undertake all tasks within the software development lifecycle. As part of the team, I will engage in problem-solving and ensure the quality of results and methods. I will also be responsible for communicating technical information effectively to various stakeholders and contributing to project discussions and presentations.
Description
I would like to emphasize that having expertise in Java or C++, along with experience in requirements management (especially with DOORS), UML/Enterprise Architect for system design, and the Atlassian Toolset, is highly desirable. Knowledge of network protocols, databases (such as Python, Fortran, Matlab, LabView, SQL), web technologies (HTML, JavaScript), usability testing, IT skills, protocols, switch configuration, hardware configuration, and virtualization within Agile software development will give you an advantage. Please note that due to the sensitive nature of our projects, all applicants must have experience in the Defence or Military industry within the last 12 months or be eligible for Security Clearance (minimum SC level).
