Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experiences:
- Advanced SQL knowledge
- Snowflake (ideally certified)
- Python development
- Essential AWS cloud experience related to data tooling and development
- Working knowledge of Data Build Tool (DBT), including:
- Developing staging, intermediate, and marts in DBT to meet analytics requirements
- Optimizing existing models for reusability by following DBT best practices
- Identifying opportunities for incremental model updates over full refresh
- Organizing and documenting sources in DBT
- Developing DBT macros for frequently repeated tasks
- Understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices
- Development experience in one or more object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Python)
- Ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders across various verticals
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be involved in various aspects of the development lifecycle, including:
- Data modeling
- Process design
- Development
- Testing
You will join our team during a significant migration to Snowflake, providing you with a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of data engineering and contribute to our modernization efforts.
Description
This position is remote, with occasional travel to Hemel Hempstead. We are offering a contract outside IR35 for a duration of 6 months, with a day rate of up to £550. We are eager to have someone onboard who possesses a strong background in SQL and Python development, with extensive experience in data modeling.
