Requirements
Must:
- Experience as a senior level software engineer.
- A solid grasp of high-level programming languages, such as C, NI LabWindows/CVI, LabVIEW, or LabVIEW FPGA.
- Familiarity with TestStand and developing low-level drivers.
- Experience in developing software for test system environments and within a development process framework.
- Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Agile development and the Atlassian toolset.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools, defect tracking, and peer review.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and adapt to changing demands.
- Personal attributes and values are just as important to us as technical ability.
Responsibilities
- Create and deliver software solutions within a defined work package area, ensuring that all stakeholder requirements are met.
- Establish and mature stakeholder needs, prioritizing and balancing them to determine the optimal capability to solve problems.
- Develop high-quality, robust code while fully documenting and recording work products under configuration management, providing progress plans and reports to the line manager.
- Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure architectural alignment with other program elements.
- Apply appropriate tools and techniques for test equipment design, providing advice in your area of expertise.
- Resolve emerging issues by proposing and driving solutions, escalating complex risks, and supporting the definition of opportunities and risk mitigation options.
- Foster relationships and networks within and outside the line of business, actively seeking opportunities and promoting a culture of best practices.
- Develop, coach, mentor, teach, and upskill other engineers in the broader application of engineering.
Description
We understand that the "perfect candidate" doesn't always exist; however, we value diverse skills and experiences. Ideally, we would like candidates to be able to attend our site in Newcastle three days per week. Additionally, candidates must hold a current SC clearance or be eligible to be cleared to SC Level to work on a UK Eyes Only program. Please note that the rates of pay are umbrella and this role is inside IR35.
